What this preview shows that LinkedIn doesn't
LinkedIn's upload screen shows your banner once, at desktop proportions, with a crop box. It does not show the profile view most people see: a phone, where the 1584 × 396 image renders around 400 points wide and your round profile photo takes a much bigger bite out of the lower left. This preview renders the file on each LinkedIn device profile we test and outlines every overlay in place.
How to use it
- Pick LinkedIn (profile) or LinkedIn (company) above. They are different sizes: 1584 × 396 for a profile, 1512 × 256 for a Page cover.
- Upload the exact file you plan to publish, not a screenshot.
- Mark the parts that must stay readable: your headline, logo or call to action. Auto-detect finds most of them.
- Run the preview and look for any device that reports a conflict.
The fix most banners need
Move text right and into the middle band. On a 1584 × 396 canvas, content from about x = 400px and between y = 130px and y = 260px survives every profile we render. The full reasoning is in LinkedIn banner cut off on mobile, and the spec is in the LinkedIn banner size guide.
Files are deleted after a few hours and nothing is posted to LinkedIn. For pixel-exact fix coordinates and a saved report, run a full audit.
