About Better Header

Better Header checks social media headers the way your audience sees them: on real phone, tablet, desktop and TV layouts, with the profile photo, status bar, Dynamic Island and platform buttons drawn on top. It exists because every platform publishes one upload size and says nothing about what each device then covers.

Who makes it

Better Header is built and run by Ian MacCallum, a software developer, and published by Parra, LLC. Ian writes the guides on this site and maintains the device profiles the audits render against.

How the numbers are checked

Upload sizes, file formats and limits are taken from each platform's own help pages, and each guide names its source and the date it was read. Crop and overlay zones come from the device profiles we render, not from the platforms. The methodology page lists the devices, the process and every spec correction.
